Homework 7
Final Project
Today: doing different things to different parts of a sound file, more about arrays in Python.
First show the function from last time that normalizes sound file, look at an example with spoken sound and how it sounds if we normalize correctly versus just increasing the volume forever.
I already gave an example earlier that just changed the volume on the 1st half or 2nd half of the sound file. That is in the sample code for today. So we can look at that and explain it.
An aside about doing arrays in Python. Another way to view what is going on with getSamples versus getSample. You can look in the Python file for today for some explanation.
Also, can use float function instead of "+0.0 trick". And can use int function also. float(number) gives you a floating point number even if number was an integer, and int(number) gives you an integer number even if number was a floating point number.
Now, let's try to make a siren type sound. See the sample Python file for today...
Next time:
And make sure to take the quiz, and type things into JES to try them out!
