The CS seminar... As of Jan 2025, we will meet at noon on Mondays (for about an hour, when classes are in session) to discuss or have a presentation on something.
The meetings are in TC 307, and available via Teams as well.
An email list that is use for communicating about what problems are being worked on, etc. is https://cs.indstate.edu/mailman/listinfo/club. You can sign up for that if you want to be in the loop on those types of things.
Whoever is organizing for that week can decide. To get us started, we'll keep a bullet list of topics here.
- Oct 23 - Technical Interviews and LeetCode beginner's guide and other LeetCode problems.
- Oct 30 - LeetCode - beginner challenge problems, random easy problems, explore card track. Database problems. Data structures. Maybe some pandas, javascript, shell. Leetcode-75.
- Nov 6 - Resume review - see Applying for Jobs/Internships for advice. And statement of purpose (grad school, PhD programs). And cover letter is maybe not a thing. LinkedIn jobs project. Contests.
- Nov 13 - LinkedIn Jobs dataset - what languages should we teach, what tools should be able to use, what classes should we offer, ...? See this notebook. Also, on the board technical interview questions.
- Nov 20 - Jeff not present, plan would likely be to look at more interview questions / review data structures.
- Nov 27 - no meeting, Thanksgiving break.
- Dec 4 - CS 399 internship presentation, look at more interview questions / review whatever topics you would like.
- Jan 20 - projects - list of projects (need to be logged in with your ISU microsoft account)
