Welcome to Pro SMP Finder, the Prokaryotic Small Membrane-Associated Protein Finder!

The source code for Pro SMP Finder is at https://gitlab.indstate.edu/jkinne/pro-smp-finder/. See that link for the source code and for instructions on installing the program on your own system.

The form on this page can be used to run the pipeline on our server. When the job is complete, the page will update with a download link for your results. You will also be emailed the download link, so you do not need to stay on this page once you have started the job. Note that results files are normally retained on this server for at least 2 weeks but are not guaranteed to remain after this.

If you have any problems with this form or the pipeline, or have any questions, you can write to pro_smp_finder@cs.indstate.edu. We are still actively developing the pipeline, and if you have any feature requests feel free to send those as well.

Options to the program

When you first load the page, the default options are loaded. The values are saved while the browser is open and reset to default values if you open the page in a new window. The description for each option is next to the field where you should enter it. The options with descriptions in bold are those that are most commonly adjusted; we suggest adjusting these settings first and coming back to check the other settings after running your first test run. Note that with default settings, the pipeline normally completes in under a minute or so.

Note that this server is in beta testing and is being limited to running a limited number of jobs at a time. Once we have tested a bit more we will open it up to have a proper job submission system that will run jobs when CPU time is available. Until then, you will be notified when you submit the form if the job started running or if you need to try again later.
